After tweeting and deleting a few comments about doing it out of appreciation and actually caring enough to try and fix the mistake, Grande made a couple statements that particularly stood out to Japanese fans. Even the fix was messed up, though, technically reading “Japanese BBQ grill finger,” and the Internet wasn’t shy about reminding her. If you missed the story the first time around, folks have been giving her trouble ever since she botched a tattoo that was supposed to say “7 rings.” Now she’s had enough, and apparently plans to quit studying Japanese as a result.Īfter the initial mistake-which turned “7 rings” into “Japanese BBQ grill” (shichirin)-Grande tried to fix it. Even with thank u, next on the horizon, though, she can’t seem to shake the online fallout for her honest tattoo mistake. Every song Ariana Grande releases is a huge hit, and she has another hotly-anticipated album due out tomorrow.
